John Gillman & Sons (Electrical) Ltd, which trades as Domestic Appliance Distributors (D.A.D), has entered administration following a period of financial difficulty.
Gillman’s Electrical Limited is an established family-based business with their head office in the heart of Gloucester, with a further retail outlet in Ross on Wye and a Commercial warehouse and offices in Exeter.
The family business was originally established in 1969 and remains a successful and strong local business, run by the original family.
In April 2022 the original name of the business ‘John Gillman and Son’s Electrical Ltd’ and the distribution part of the business were sold to an investment company, at this time, it was the most successful and largest domestic white goods distributor within the UK.
It is with sadness that Gillman’s Electrical has learned that three years after the sale, John Gillman & Son’s Electrical Ltd now based in Northway Lane, Tewkesbury, and under the sole directorship of Alison Taylor has entered administration.
Our thoughts go out to the many employees who we understand have been made redundant, many of whom had worked for the Gillman family for many years, prior to the sale of the business.
We recognise the uncertainty and distress this will cause and extend our sincere best wishes to all those affected.
Gillman’s Electrical have confirmed that they continue to trade successfully with future plans to invest in the many parts of the business, such as retail, service, trade teams and our specialist commercial appliance teams.
They would also like to take this opportunity to reassure and thank their many local and loyal customers who continue to support them.
