Police will be escorting an abnormal load through Gloucestershire this Friday (24 October) and again next Tuesday (28 October), with motorists warned to expect some delays.

At around 10.30am on both dates, officers will accompany the transportation of an industrial power unit from the M50, through Tewkesbury High Street, and along the A38. The load will then rejoin the M5 southbound at Junction 9 before continuing its journey to Swansea.

The abnormal load measures 22 metres in length, 4.6 metres in width and weighs 145 tonnes. Gloucestershire Police say they will work to keep disruption to a minimum but are advising drivers to plan ahead, allow extra time for their journeys, and avoid the route if possible.

The operation is part of a coordinated effort to ensure the safe and smooth movement of the oversized equipment across county routes.
