Tewkesbury Borough Council has confirmed a series of free parking days across its town centre car parks in a bid to support small businesses and encourage local shopping during the busy Christmas period.
The initiative is designed to make it easier for residents and visitors to enjoy festive events, shop with independent retailers and ease parking costs during the run-up to Christmas.
Free parking will be offered on the following dates:
- Sunday 23 November – All council-owned car parks in Tewkesbury, coinciding with the Christmas Market and Lights Switch-on.
- Saturday 6 December – All council-owned car parks in Tewkesbury and Winchcombe for Small Business Saturday.
- Saturday 13 December – Free parking at both council-owned car parks in Winchcombe.
- Saturday 20 December – Free parking at all council-owned car parks in Tewkesbury and Winchcombe.
Councillor Stewart Dove, Lead Member for Finance and Asset Management, said: “We’re delighted to offer these free parking dates to support our local businesses and communities by making it easier for people to shop and celebrate locally this season.”
The council is encouraging people to make the most of the festive programme of events across the borough.
