Appeal for information following reports of motorbikes and off-road bikes being ridden anti-socially

Police in Tewkesbury are investigating reports of motorbikes and off-road bikes being ridden anti-socially over recent weeks and they are appealing for information to identify the riders.

The Tewkesbury Neighbourhood Policing Team have been receiving reports of motorbikes being ridden by teenagers without helmets and across paths, alleyways and playing fields.

This presents a risk not only to the rider, but also to the general public with young children at an increased risk of being knocked over by riders.

The main areas that are being targeted by anti-social riders have included but are not limited to:

• Churchdown by the Community Centre – heading to the track which leads to the side of the airport
• Guan Road and Peregrine Road in Brockworth
• Vineyard and Swillgate towards Priors Park over the paths in Tewkesbury

The majority of the youths involved have not been wearing helmets and have their faces covered to conceal their identity.

Officers are now asking anyone who knows who the riders are or has witnessed their anti-social behaviour to get in contact.

Sergeant Dave Kania from the Neighbourhood Policing Team said: “Behaviour of this type is known to impact many people and poses a risk to both the riders and members of the public.

“Neighbourhood officers will be conducting patrols of the area in an attempt to prevent further anti-social behaviour.

“The team would like to ask members of the public to help us by reporting incidents and, if possible, supplying photographic or video evidence.”
